steeping herbs in a glass bottle

Boil the content - boil the water, add some herbs and then infuse it for 20 minutes; after that, strain the content, cool it down and bottle it.

Mix them up - put all the ingredients in a container and shake well, this procedure works well for essential oils.

Steep the content - put the herbs in a container then pour the hot water over them, let them stay overnight then strain. Many people got great results when steeping the herbs for about a week. Don't forget to shake well once a day then to strain them.

In order to get the best out of the raw or dried plants it is better to boil or steep the content. When you use non-herbal ingredients (like salt, glycerin, baking soda) or essential oils you don't require heat they just need to be well mixed together.

NOTE: If you use do-it-yourself mouthwash, don't forget to shake it before each use since the ingredients might have settled, and the essential oils might be gathered at the top of the container.

Hint: All the recipes stated require water. But do not use tap water since it has chlorine, nitrates, mercury, fluoride and even some carcinogens like chromium-6. Instead, you can use bottled, distilled, filtered or mineral water.
